7 Tips to Get Ready for the 4th of July

We're starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel as we turn the corner on this worldwide pandemic. It's been hard staying cooped up in the house all day and many are beginning to host again. And how can you blame? Getting back to some semblance of normality is a part of the healing process. And what better way to celebrate our endurance than an Independence Day BBQ?

I'm sure you've got it already planned in your mind. The smell of the hamburgers charring on the barbecue. The sound of children running around the backyard. The warm embrace of friends long removed. We're almost there. As you're preparing you may have already done a walk around to assess the neglect your home has suffered. Weeds not pulled, Hedges not trimmed, patio furniture not cleaned. And then there's your home.

Along with doing the usual pickup around the house and backyard, here are 7 things you should be thinking about to prepare for a 4th of July gathering.

1. Hang a Flag

Nothing expresses patriotism than proudly letting the stars and stripes flap in the wind. Pick up an American flag and all the mounting hardware here. https://amzn.to/3gmlu7g

2. Check Your Home Owner’s or Renter’s Insurance

With the beautiful display of fireworks, it can be easy to forget the dangers. Roofs and gutters collect debris. When that debris dries, it becomes extremely flammable. Make sure you are covered under your insurance policy for fire, especially around this time. One misplaced firework can end in disaster.

3. Clean Your Gutters and Roof

The best way to prevent fire is to remove all the debris from your roof and gutters. The granules on your roof will act as a fire prevention but removing the debris will guarantee that the fire never starts.

4. Prepare for Bugs

Your friends and family are not the only ones looking for a good meal. Food and people attract bugs. Get ahead of the problem with a decorative solution. Backyard Tiki torches look great, add a magic to the night and keep your guest bite free. Pick up yours today at https://amzn.to/3fZfBOx.

5. Waterdown Roof and Bushes

If you have a hose, ladder and spray nozzle, it may be a good idea to water down your roof and bushes to make it harder for a fire to start. We recommend doing this in the evening so that the water doesn’t evaporate as fast.

6. Clean Your Grill

No one wants last years burger grease on this year’s. Give your grill a good scrubbing. We recommended using a strong degreaser like Mean Green Super Strength available here https://amzn.to/3521RMB. Spray vigorously and allow to dwell for 10-20 minutes before agitating. Give it a thorough rinse afterwards.

7. Clean Home Exterior

Consider hiring a professional exterior cleaning company to make your home shine again. Your pressure washer may not be strong enough to cut through the 1-2 years of growth that has developed on your concrete and there's plenty of other things that you could be using that time for to prepare. A whole home soft wash well remove all the growth that's on the side of the homes, brighten up the gutters, and restore your patios making them ready to receive your guests. because the soft wash method uses an active ingredient in Bleach, you're home space will be clean and sanitize making it safer for all who stop by. Soft washing also works as a brightening agent which will make your home sparkle and prompt compliment after compliment from your friends and family.
